Leaning In

There’s something beautiful about vision - dreaming of what’s ahead, mapping out the “someday,” and making intentional choices now that shape the future you’re building. I love goal-setting. I love talking about the “hell yes” things you’ll say yes to because you’ve been brave enough to say no to the almost-good-enough things.

But here’s the truth: if we’re so focused on what’s next, we can miss what God has already placed right in front of us.

We live in that sacred in-between—the already and the not yet. Maybe your dream is to photograph motherhood sessions dripping in editorial elegance, or to scale your business to six figures, or to finally feel confident enough to charge luxury pricing.

Those are beautiful goals, and they matter. But if you only ever live in the “one day,” you’ll miss the sacred work happening in your “right now.”

The projects in your inbox? They’re opportunities to practice excellence, to serve wholeheartedly, and to build the kind of reputation that future doors will swing open because of.
The small shoots, the repeat clients, the jobs that maybe don’t feel exactly like your dream work? They’re not detours. They’re stepping stones.

Colossians 3:23 reminds us: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

When we lean into the present with faith and gratitude, we shift from striving to becoming. We stop wishing we were somewhere else, with someone else, doing something else. Instead, we look at what God has entrusted us with today and ask: How can I bring excellence here? How can I serve here? How can I glorify Him here?

The future will come. The “hell yes” opportunities will unfold. But right now is holy work too.

What has God placed in your hands today? Who has He trusted you to serve, right here, right now?

Lean in. Show up. Do excellent work with what you have—and watch how God uses today to shape your tomorrow.
